In a capitalistic system, movie theaters have become impersonal and over-commercialized. You get a generic ticket, buy stale popcorn, and get packed into a theater like a can of sardines—bonus points if the kid behind you won’t stop kicking the back of your seat. At Voyeur Theatre, introverts will be able to attend movies by themselves with the expectation of not being bothered. It will be like they’re still at home in the comfort of your their couch. While the term 'voyeur' traditionally has a negative connotation, this brand reclaims the term. At its core, voyeurism is taking pleasure in watching something, typically without being seen yourself. And is this not what movie theaters are all about?
